Hypo zero odd dark spot on head? And bump on tail.

I bought my hypo zero about 2 weeks ago and upon arrival he has some grey on his head right between his eyes and I don’t know what it might be? He’s a month and a half years old and I’m wondering if it will go away with his next shed or as he ages? I love him either way but I’ve look online and can’t find any answers what it might be. Possibly scarring? Or scales that fell out? Along with the grey on his head he also has a weird little bump on the underside of the end of his tail. I’ll include pictures it’s kinda hard to explain. Whenever I’ve looked it up online I get unhelpful results for tail rot which I don’t think it is but it’s super odd and he doesn’t seem to like me to touch it when I’m holding him. Any ideas of what this might be and if you’ve seen it before would be great! Thank you :)[XIMG]107124

I'm not sure what either of those are so i'm sorry if I can't help you specifically, but what I can tell you is when I got my bearded dragon, one side of his face was yellowish and didnt look right- when I looked it up I got all KINDS of answers that were much worse than the actual issue- I took him to the vet for a generalized check up and it just ended up being stuck shed! Sometimes we worry more than we should for the issue at hand- so don't stress yourself out too much :) He looks to be healthy- his eyes are bright and he seems alert. Keep an eye on it, and if it worsens or he seems in pain, i'd go to the vet. I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you- but he is adorable!!!

Yeah that looks like some stuck shed or dirt on there. A Nice soak will help with that, try scrubbing the area with a soft toothbrush. I'm not too sure what the bump could be though, that might need some vet attention or some advice from the more experienced posters here. Perhaps an upraised scale? I'm not sure. :?

He's absolutely beautiful BTW! :D zeros are gorgeous.

No problem! But the vet you set an appointment up for, Are they a Reptile or exotics vet that specializes in Reptiles, Or is it just a regular dog and cat vet? Regular vets are not good or knowledgeable about reptiles so just make sure they're a reptile vet.

It’s called well haven they say they treat dogs, cats, and exotics. I’ve taken my leopard gecko to them before and they’re alright but every time I leave I feel like they just tell me stuff I already know or could find easily online. it’s the only one in my area that treats reptiles. I wish there were more reptile vets where I live. :/

Hello,

I hope you don't mind me moving your thread to the Health forum, for more exposure.
Were you going to get him to a vet?
He is a very handsome dragon. :D It looks like maybe some stuck shed on his tail
possibly. You have given him a bath & tried using a soft toothbrush to gently brush at
that area to see if it comes off?
They oftentimes develop dark off colored freckles that may or may not eventually shed
off. If it doesn't fade or go away just keep an eye on it to be sure it isn't a fungal issue
that needs to be addressed. Other than that, he looks terrific.

Thanks so much Tracie! :) I took him to my local vet and they told me he’s fine but I’m taking him to a reptile specialist in Portland OR this next Saturday! I’ve been keeping my eye on his tail and head and they’ve stayed the same. He shed his tail but has yet to shed anywhere else, so I’m not sure if that spot on his head will come off or not with the next shed. I did try the soft toothbrush and it doesn’t seem to wanna come off so I decided to leave it be. He’s a happy, energetic baby, I just want answers and hopefully if someone else has a beardie with anything like this it can help them. I’ll keep updating :)

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
