I don’t have a reptile vet in my area. I work for this vet and they use VIN for resources, which follow what you all are saying. What do I clean his cage with? I have been cleaning with wipe out from Zoo meds. Do I remove drift wood and items from his cage?

Can you get a hold of some F10 from your vet office ------------ it is some good stuff and will clean and disinfect that tank good ---- some others on here will have some advice on how to and when to clean it -- since hes still got it and you are waiting for a culture test to come back so they can treat your gonna need to treat the tank at the same time so hes not constantly getting it back

Hello,

How is your boy doing?
I would remove any porous items & disinfect them. Use cardboard boxes & paper towels
instead to help keep things cleaner right now.
You can soak the driftwood in hot, soapy water & rinse well. Then you can bake it at around
250 or so for 20-30 minutes but don't burn it. LOL
If you have a steamer you can use that, too for cleaning. The wipe out is fine for an overall,
generalized cleaning.
When do you anticipate the culture results to come back?/

Hello,

I am sorry that the skin graph revealed probable fungus. Did they discuss any treatment or
prescribe anything as of yet?
I did send you a PM with my site. If you need help or have more questions, let me know.
Please keep us posted on how he is doing!

Spike has yellow fungus. I am already treating with Lamasil and honey, betadine and chlorhexdine. His fungus has already been debrided. My vet says the itraconazal is on back order. Terbinafine can come as an oral solution. Any suggestions or expertise on using other oral antifungals?

The clumps on his neck were taken off when we got culture samples. The clumps on his skin tend to harbor the fungus and make it hard for the topicals to treat his skin. The clumps pretty much fell off.

Hello,

Oh ok, so they aren't able to get the Itraconazole right now, what about its sister medication,
Voriconazole? Or, are they going with the Terbinafine right now?
I will have your Reptophilus sent out for you on wednesday. I hope she is doing well today.
****Karrie, debrided just means they cleaned it off, getting all of the old or dead & damaged
skin & scales scraped off**** It sometimes is not comfortable to have that done.

Let us know how Spike is doing!

Good to hear that treatment is started. How's Spike's appetite ? Do you have pics where the debridement removed some of the fungus ?

I'm so sorry about your little pet Spike. You did all you could but sadly Y.F. is always fatal when in such an advanced stage. My heart goes out to you at this sad time .

Hello,

Oh no, I am so sorry you lost little Spike. Yellow fungus is a debilitating disease & is
extremely hard to treat once it becomes severe. My condolences to you.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
