Fat but skinny?

I got her a few months ago and she has always been like this.
Her tail is very thin and bony and you can see her joints for her back legs
and she also has sunken fat pads. She drinks and eats fine. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything that could be useful/helpful to know.

She is probably malnourished what do you feed her.

Hi there,

Poor girl, she is definitely skin and bones.
That roundness you're seeing in the picture is not her being fat, it is her inflating herself with air to have more surface area exposed to the heat. It's a way they have to heat their bodies more efficiently.

I agree we should definitely go over her daily diet and make sure its adequate.
And we should go over her husbandry to make sure shes able to even digest and process the food shes eating.

She is severely malnourished or has a pretty bad parasite infection so we need to take care of this and get some weight on her as soon as possible.
Luckily they are tough creatures and come easily come back from things like this as long as you are willing to put in the effort. We are here to help you and your precious girl :D

I feed them mostly every 2 days as when I fed them everyday they didnt always take anything.
they usually eat 2-3 extra large locusts or 4 crickets or 4-6 worms. I am not really sure as I just keep giving them food for 5 mins or until they stop taking it.

Do they both live and/or get fed in the same enclosure?
In any case, if she's eating enough but still malnourished, I would definitely recommend a parasite check and a review of lighting and temps.

I have not fed them crickets for a while because they seem to like the locusts more.

Poor thing, are they housed together ? Big red flag if they are .
Yes they are both housed together, I thought you could keep two girls together?
They dont fight or compete for the best basking spot or for food they share the basking spot and take turns eating when I feed them.

It's true that some females do get along fine , I've had females housed together back when I was breeding. There has to be lots of room and they have to get along. This is a 300 gal. tank.

But if any dragon is thin/sickly they are better off in their own enclosure. Is the other dragon a decent size ? This dragon would probably benefit from Oxbow Critical Care formula from a vet. I think you might be able to get it online as well. Offer her her fave foods every day and even try home made slurries . A few waxworms might boost her appetite, silkworms + hornworms are good as well. The locusts are good, 4 cm would be about 1.5" so that's a good size.

They are both about 420grams but the other dragon isnt flat she is normal sized.
She also eats much more than the other one but they are both the same weight.

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
