Hello, I recently (within the last two weeks) got my second bearded dragon. Everything is normal with him he just had a shed. The pet store was unable to tell how hold he is, I believe he is over a year but under two. I've noticed that he can't sleep with his infrared light in which is worrisome to me because when he sleeps and I have his night heat lamp on (the infrared) he will move to the cold and dark spot of the tank to sleep. This worries me because i'm scared if he is too cold and something bad will happen to him.
Is there a heat lamp I can get that won't produce light because he must be sensitive to light and not like to sleep with any light what so ever.

***Edit***
I've fixed his lighting and he's been sleeping under his new lamp and happier than ever thank you guys

Hi there,

You should not use those red bulbs at night. You really shouldn't use them at all. They are not suited for bearded dragons. Dragons ideally need complete darkness at night. The colored bulbs disrupt their sleep and bother them. This is most likely why your new guy is trying to avoid the light at night.

You only need to provide heat at night if your house drops below 60-65. And if it does, you want a CHE, as these produce heat but no visible light. I would suggest the same for your other dragon too. :)

He cant sleep because of the red light --- it is disturbing his sleep-- dragons need cooler temps not below 65 and NO LIGHT------ if you need heat in the tank purchase a CHE ceramic heat emitter -- they produce no light come in 75 or 100 watt lamps -- if your tank stays above 65 you will not need one ---but PLEASE get rid of the red light ---- they hurt their eyes and can cause long term eye damage--- NO colored bulbs should ever be used in a bearded dragons tank -- so w/ that being said we would like to see your lighting you have for your tank ---- UVB especially

Thank you, I have a heat lamp for day time that has UVA and basking heat and a regular UVB bulb that i use for the day with that heat light so I will go out now and get him a heat lamp that doesn't use that light. Thank you

You need a bright white basking bulb that can keep temps 95-105 --

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
