Hi all,

Could anyone give me some advice on my setup? My beard is seems to really like it but I want to make sure I’m doing things right. I have a T8 for the UVB bulb and it’s about 7” from the highest point in the tank. It’s a 40 gallon tank anabolic his heat source gets it to about 94-97 on the warm side and 82-85 on the cooler side. His favorite basking spot is the log on the right, but he does love climbing on the taller structure (it gets too hot if it is under the heat lamp)

The tank looks great!

What is your basking surface temp? You only mentioned the warm side. The basking temp is the most important one :)

If your t8 is sitting on top of the mesh (I believe those tanks have a pretty fine mesh) it would be best to try to mount it inside under the mesh. 8 inches or so is good, but only when its unobstructed.

Your cool side is a little warm. I like to be under 80 for mine. 75 is what I shoot for.
This allows a good gradient and lots of temperature choices for them to pick from if they want to cool off or warm up.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
