Just wondering if I can use a incandescent halogen bulb it's just shaped like a normal household bulb and is 75watt equivalent uses 53watts. Any thoughts

That should be OK as long as it's producing proper surface temps and is providing a good heat gradient across the enclosure.

Yes I wanted to add some light and heat to the cool side which in return bumps up the megaray temp a little bit. The cool side is always below 75 according to digital thermometer with probe. And when I add this clear incandescent bulb it gets it up to 78 to 80. Is that about right. I've read alot of info that says cool side temperatures should be 80 to 90. Is that right or is that to hot.

I like cool side temps around 70 or 75. It's all just part of the gradient and allowing them to better thermo regulate.

I think standard advice is 75-80 on cool side.

A higher Kelvin rating would be better alongside the megaray imo but it isn't that big of a deal. if you were using a tube, the 3000k would be ideal.

I have a full spectrum t5 34 inch tube that I could use as well I could put in the reptisun hood. Should I add that with the megaray instead of the incandescent bulb.

Yeah you could do that. It's just a regular t5 bulb?

It would add a better range to the enclosure which should be appreciated by your dragon.

Im currently really looking into full spectrum lighting in the vivs. Acadia makes a full spectrum led bar that looks promising. Im probably going to start a thread on what I have in mind lighting wise but I'm rambling now.

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
