Weird lump on jaw

Postby lazyfortress » Mon Jun 24, 2019 8:56 am

This is Vincent, and he has a weird, hard bump on his jaw. Doesn’t seem to bother him when I touch it.

Should I be worried?

Hello,

Vincent looks great! How long has he had this bump on his jawline area?
It could be a cyst, abscess, or a bone irregularity. What type/brand of UVB light are you using?
If it doesn't seem to bother him, then you could give it a bit of time, to see if it changes in size or
shape. I would keep an eye on it, just to be sure it doesn't get worse.
Is he eating well?

Thanks for replying!

I just noticed the bump today. It might’ve been there 2 days ago I think.

As for the light, I’m using a Zoo Med setup. Combo Deep Dome dual lamp fixture.

Hello,

Ok, so it just suddenly came up. Could he have gotten bitten by a cricket possibly?
At least it isn't getting bigger at the moment.
So the UVB light is a compact/coil type of bulb? If so, you will need to change to a long,
fluorescent tube bulb, such as the Reptisun 10 or the Arcadia D3 12% or 14% tube. The
UVB exposure is much better than the compact/coil lights are.

Let us know how things are going. I hope it doesn't get any larger.
