Hi, my names Isaiah this is my second bearded dragon after the first passed away about a year ago due to natural causes. My new bearded dragon eats like a pig and loves his veggies but, he has a few problems. He has 2 bumps on the back of his neck region that I believe could be caused by MBD he has had them as long as I could remember.

His 2nd problem is eye gunk like stuff the reoccurs in the same eye. I have no idea what the eye gunk is and what's causing it. It's usually crusty but when I give him a bath it gets gooey like in the picture.

Bumps along their shoulder is normal from what I've seen. The eye may be irritated with something in it. Possibly a piece of shedding skin. How long has the eye been like that? Flushing it with saline may help. If it continues though, you may want to check with a vet and possibly introduce some antibiotic eye drops if deemed necessary.

Also you said you had a Reptisun 10.0 UVB ? Is it a coil or a tube bulb?

It was a coil before but I heard that it could cause eye problems so he's been with the uvb tube light for about 2 months.

Hello,

Everything in your setup sounds good. You are now using a long, fluroescent Reptisun
10 tube bulb, correct? As stated, if you were previously using a compact/coil type of
UVB light, they are notorious for causing eye issues for a large number of dragons or
other reptiles.
It could just be some shed but you can try the sterile saline solution to see if that helps.
The bumps on the shoulder blades is pretty common & more dominant in some than in
others.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
