A little story about Jimmia :)

Postby JIMMIA » Fri May 31, 2019 3:48 am

A long time ago, about 1 year and a bit, I wanted a new friended, I was always depressed, I have no friends, I just went to and from work everyday and every night, I missed my dog still even though she passed on 2 and half years before I got Jimmia-

so 1 day I made a wish just before my birthday in May that I needed a new friend, because I was feeling alone whilst my mother was in hospital dealing with breast cancer and had no one at home to talk with besides my dog but she was only in spirit form; and one night not long after my mother got to good news that she was cancer free I was very happy, I was walking home one night not by choice but it was my only way to and from work, I found a shoe box by the side of the road, so to save a car running over it I thought I would do the honourable thing and move it but when I had opened the box I had seen a tiny little bearded dragon in there (soon to be jimmia);

I thought to myself awesome, my wish came true, I needed a brand new friend, so that night I took little jimmia home with me, and at that point in time I hardly knew any information whatsoever about bearded dragons!

I did a little google search and I came across this amazing website! From there I did what I could, I went and got his light, and other stuff I needed the very next day!

so since than, I’ve not felt so much depressed, I’ve not felt alone, I’ve slowly built my trust in love again, I am me me again! Now watching my little bearded slowly grow over the 1 year I have had him I’ve discovered more information about the bearded dragon species than I did before and I honestly say it is fantastic!

so I would like to really say thank you very much both to everyone who has helped me here on this website and also at the pet shop!

:) :) :) :) :)

Wow, Jimmia is so lucky to be found by you. That sounds like a story of karma coming around in a very positive way when you and Jimmia both needed it! Happy birthday to both of you

thank you very much :) I took the JIMMIA name from my beautiful girl Mia, she was a very huge big fan and collector of The Doors like me, the lead singer was Jim Morrison, so after talking to the geckos because I believe that is what her spirit reincarnated to- I asked her a name and she gave me the name “JIMMIA” so I thought that it was pretty unique and I didn’t even think was a real name and I searched it and happened to be a real one! so I will always love and miss my baby girl, she seen me through my dark depression stages and she lived to 13 human years of my 27 years :) [Click image to enlarge]

the reason above is truth about how I named JIMMIA, Jimmia and this is what JIMMIA means so it sounds just like him :)

What Does Name "Jimmia" Mean

You are honest, benevolent, brilliant and often inventive, full of high inspirations. You are courageous, honest, determined, original and creative. You are a leader, especially for a cause. Sometimes you do not care to finish what you start, and may leave details to others. You can do well in position of authority, and prospers in intellectual and professional fields. You are intuitive and might be interested in the arts, drama or science.
You are always looking for a chance to do your own thing, to be your own person, and to have things done your own way.

Omg that's so heartwarming!!!! What a beautiful coincidence, or gift, that you were able to save him and in turn saved each other! He looks so happy and healthy now!

As someone who has been through depression I can say my beardie baby Nara helps me immensely. Caring for him gives me a reason to get up in the mornings at a regular time. Knowing a creature smaller and more vulnerable than me needs my help and care. Beardies are amazing creatures.

thank you very much behemuffin and Nara :) yes depression is awful thing to go through, it’s a silent killer :( but yeah I would agree, Jimmia is literally my first ever bearded dragon, I come from the land they originate from and I’ve learnt more than I did before, I’m proud to call myself a beardie owner, he is the most adorable little guy ever, he is easy going and nothing seems to bother him but that’s why they are all so unique and special or as I would say BEARDIE-FUL (beautiful lol) :)

I loved reading your story and seeing all the pics!
I have a 5 month old beardie who has brought a lot of fun into my life-my current project is potty training him, he only poops on his hammock and I put a disposable water resistant pad on it and change it accordingly. Now who would of thought I would be talking to others about this BIG achievement??? Only a beardie lover would be interested!
Fortunately, you and Jimmia have crossed paths (literally!) and I am happy for you both!

Dang. It's insane how big he's gotten already, I remember when you first introduced him here. That's awesome that you saved him and that he's done so well, I'm glad he's done so well under your care! :)

But still, that's crazy. who in their right minds would just put a Beardie in a shoebox and just leave it on the side of the road?! Sheesh. :? He's lucky to have been saved.
