Beardie sleeps by back door

Whenever I let my beardie free roam, he always ends up by a door to the outside. Even when it is in the 40s and cold air coming in under the door. Makes me wonder if he can smell the fresh outdoors air and he wants to go out. He will run around for awhile, play with the cat, then go to a door and sleep. He will get really cold and never move from the spot unless I pick him up. Any ideas? Other than that he is a happy lil dude. Just a weird place to hang out when normally they would find a warm spot, not an ice cold one.

From what I've seen with my guy, they can sense something on the other side of doors (and walls) so they try to investigate. When they get cold they get tired and bunker down. If you set up a portable basking light in the same room with the door it might be helpful. Otherwise just keep an eye out and put him back in his tank when he falls asleep near the door. Just normal curiosity and nothing to worry about =)

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
