BSFL Feeding

Random, and maybe obvious question, but am I supposed to wash the larvae off before feeding, so they aren't covered in soil? I have been, but was trying to think of how they would eat in the wild and started questioning whether it was necessary. I gave a couple this morning and just put them in a puddle of water on his tile, so it washed a little, but he accidentally got a chunk of soil with one and didn't seem to like it. I was just curious about how other people go about feeding with these worms.

Thanks in advance.

I think most use a strainer and run the worms they will be feeding under the faucet.
At least that's how I've been doing it.

I think its necessary just from an appetite standpoint. My dragons get put off by the bsfl if they taste the soil mix.
And FWIW they dont eat bsfl in the wild so there's that :)

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
