Hey, guys.

A few years back, I had a beardie. Unfortunately, I had to give him to a family friend because I was leaving for USMC boot camp. During training, I tore my rotator cuff, and was medically discharged.

So, I am now looking to get back into the beardie world. I'm going to get a baby from a reputable breeder. How long will a 20gl enclosure last for a beardie? Or should I just full send a 40gl breeder?

I put my baby beardie in a 40 gal breeder from the start and he did just fine. I put in plenty of places for him to hide and climb. And I've heard of people putting in a cardboard divider if the little one does seem too intimidated by it's surroundings.
There are articles on the right side of the page under care and husbandry that are a good refresher to read through. I haven't had reptiles since high school so getting caught up here was nice! Lots of information and nice dragon-loving people!

Enclosures on my wish list (I just bought a new 75 gal for my older dragon. Then someone posted these)

Good luck! And welcome back to dragons!

Welcome!

I would definitely just go with the 40g Breeder.

What kind of beardie are you looking for?

Anything really. I want a 100% Wit, but my wallet doesn't like that idea. Probably a normal citrus, or leatherback.

Here are some breeder links but I haven't ever bought from them so I don't know their reputation first hand. I have been looking over their beardies though! My big guy was adopted from a friend of a friend and my little guy was a Petsmart baby that "Needed" to come home with me.

Thank you for all that information!! Your beardies are beautiful. I'm thinking to purchase from Carolina Classic Dragons. Any info on them?

Carolina C.D. has a very good reputation as far as I know and has beautiful dragons. They are expensive though.

I agree on the price, but I hear their dragons are worth it. Cared for extremely well, amazing colors, etc. Better than a petsmart dragon

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
