I know this topic has been beat up, and I've researched it a bit but everyone has different setups and opinions. I have a 40gal tank with a reptisun bulb spanning most of the tank, and a CHE over the basking branch. Do i need another dedicated bulb for basking or is the CHE good? the reptisun bulb is close to and shines on the branch as well. temps are around 95-97 degrees in this area. also, my house thermostat stays on 72 so from what I've read, no need for extra heat at night, unless i'm wrong there which is very possible.

And that basking spot needs to be 90-105 or so for basking -- temps should be taken w/ a Infrared heat gun - purchased from Walmart or Home Depot etc............. they give the most accurate temps - its good to have a probe thermometer in the tank for the air temp but basking temps should be taken w/ the IR gun

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
