Thank you all so much for the replies. He meant the world to me and I did everything possible to save him, but he just couldn't fight off the infection any longer.
I'll be getting his body on Wednesday to bury him. They said he is in a small cardboard casket and the report should be ready in about a month. They are also going to continue growing the cultures and see exactly which two bacteria was growing. I was also told the Med student helping with the case made me a little thing with his handprint and footprint to keep as well.
