Advice on proper diet/lighting for head vibrations

Postby kalethebeardie » Sat Jan 12, 2019 2:56 pm

Hi everyone,

My beardie really doesn't like to be enclosed in a glass tank and so we're having a hard time trying to mount our UVB light tube as we can't seem to find an adapter. If anyone knows how to plug the light tube in please let me know!

My beardie eats his veggies with Calcium powder with D3 daily, but I notice his head vibrates whenever he gets excited and moves. We don't give him any vitamin supplements, but was wondering if we should and which kind?

I also noticed that along his spine, his scales seem to be "dry" and have this excess layer of like skin over it, but I'm not really sure what happened.

Thank you so much!

He could be shedding, if not then it may be a scab from over exposure to direct heat. Keep an eye on the area to see if it heals or sheds and make sure you give him a bath in warm water for about 10-15 about two times a week.
As for the vitamins, he does need those just like he needs the calcium. ... min+powder
This is the link for what he needs, but this is found in pet stores like PetCo and PetSmart for the same price.
Now, for the enclosure. Most owners keep their dragons in tanks because it's the best environment for them. If you'd like some help and advice for your current set up then it'd be awesome if you could send a picture, I'm having a hard time visualizing what you mean.

How are you trying to mount the UVB tube bulb, outside of the tank? Do you have a light
fixture for it also? What brand of tube UVB do you have?
Please post pictures of your setup & what you are trying to achieve. Even if he doesn't
like to be in an enclosed area, you will need to figure out how to house him because he
will need a regulated basking spot. If you have pictures of him, that would be helpful, too.
The description of his skin sounds either like a shed with dry skin coming off or loose or a
What is his age?
Head vibrations can be metabolic bone related & are most of the time caused by a calcium
deficiency. Are there any particular times he does this, or does it just happen intermittently?
