Ebay dimmer and Ceramic Heat Emitter ?

I recently ordered three 50 watt CHEs for my enclosures but they sent 100 watt instead . I got my refund back but I’m stuck with these 100 watt ones . The thing is a 100 watt CHE is too powerful for night time use in my enclosures even though they are 4x2x2 . Can I order plug in dimmers from ebay for the CHEs and dim down the heat a bit ? Is it safe ? I’ve heard of people dimming halogen flood lights but not CHEs.
Any help ?

Can’t offer any insight into dimmers as I’ve never used one but I have a 100w che on a habistat thermostat - with the probe in the cool end set to the temp I want cool end to be at the che turns on whenever it’s below that temp. Works great for me
