hello, i recently got a beardie about a week ago, i don’t know his exact age but i think around 3-4 months? i’ve only held him two times since i got him, i was wondering if i should handle him more? he’s still very skiddish and jumpy, he backs away when i put my hand near him to pick him up. i’ve heard some people wait a few weeks before holding them, but some take them out everyday. what should i do?

personally i try to get some cuddles in every couple of days. i would do it every day but im a busy stay at home mom. somtimes ill put him up on my shoulder while doing the dishes or at the end of the day when hes at his calmest and we just sit and watch movies together. it all depends on what you want to do. i wouldnt go to crazy.. maybe start off for 5 minutes and then add 5 minutes more the next time.. but i wouldnt go over 30 min though

We just got our Beardie, and hes about 3 months too. At first we were trying not to bother him much. It seemed every day he got a little less friendly. Hissing and opening mouth when we went to touch him or just open his cage. So I've been trying to pick him up twice a day, and hold him gently. Every time he would breath heavy, open mouth and squirm to get away. Today for the first time he was calm and seemed to enjoy our time for almost an hour. Obviously I'm no expert and have little to go on, but it seems more handling is helping us. Or I hope so. Ann

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
