Lamps and taking pictures

So i have a breaded dragon who has a uv/heat lamp and when the lamp is on the pictures i take are green. I was just curious on what exactly in the bulb was making it green and if anyone knew?

The fluorescent lighting does that. When I shoot film I have a filter that I put on the lens that corrects that. If you're shooting with digital, you may be able to find a similar fluorescent filter or it may be correctable with a digital filter/correction of some kind post processing.
