I set up clear plastic "damage-free" hanging hooks on the sides of my beardie's tank and have a half-curtain (valance) on a string that I put up at night. It covers the front and part of the sides and keeps light out. In the morning I can unhook the string curtain and all or part the curtain part. Haven't used it as much since my bf moved onto day shift but an idea.
