a domestic 80W to 100W par38 incandescent floodglobe like this will work well . A 30W ? PAR38 halogen has been recommended by some , or a 80W - 100W MVB will work well too.


My recommendation is to visit Ebay and buy one of these :

wont produce UVA or UVB , but will give nice natural light and plenty of heat and , even better , it's dimmable.

An 80W par38 incandescent flood-globe , or 80W MVB will work in a 18" tall tank. Arcadia have nice 80W MVBs that will work a treat in that tank .

Ge 38watt par 38 flood bulb on a dimmer is perfect in my 4x2x2 melamine tank. I tried the 80 watt ones and they were way to hot.
