Hello, I just bought a new tube 24" UVB light and none of the pet store carry anything it fits into besides a Fish tank hood.. is this going to be alright for light? Or should I make some adjustments?? Here are some pics
Some of them serve dual purpose but most are T8 lights I believe. Does the fixture have a reflector behind the bulb? That helps somewhat. Your tank is pretty big though so I would get a T5 bulb and fixture. The fixtures for these bulbs are often sold as grow light fixtures. http://www.lightyourreptiles.com/22-t-5-ho-fixture-high-output-with-arcadia-d3-12-ho-bulb/
Thanks, ok I might check some of the plant/growing stores then to see what I can dig up. The bulb that is in there now though is a T5 24" UVB 17Watt Reptile bulb I bought seprit from the hood.
If the bulb is a T5 it should be OK but I would double check that size and wattage to make sure you have a fixture that fits. Using a reflector is a good idea with both the T5 and T8 bulbs.
