I would just get a 24 inch fluorescent fixture and remove the plastic piece

That wont be much good , as a T8 UVB tube is quite weak, even with a proper focusing reflector behind it or in a proper reflector hood...
See this for a comparison : viewtopic.php?f=34&t=235611
Buy a 24" T5ho 10%UVB or 12%UVB the same length and install in a reflector hood.

But if you decide to use the T8 tube , it needs to be UNDER THE LID and no farther than 6 inches from the basking spot even if installed in a good reflector hood.
Here are some T8 reflector hoods :

Hello,

I agree. The Reptisun 10 tube bulbs that are the T8's are good but not real strong when
placed on top of a screen. Definitely try to get that mounted underneath of the screen
top so that the UVB can reach your dragon more effectively.
Good luck with your set up.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
