So I came across a 40 gallon tank and supplies on CL for 40 dollars!!! Sent my dad to go look at it and it's in mostly really good condition! Got some slight melting on a small part of the top frame but I couldn't believe it! Came with a hammock, two lights and extra bulbs, bowls, slate for the bottom.... and more!

Guy told my dad that their dragon had died and they never got another. Not sure how long ago. Said she laid eggs and then was sick and died while they were on vacation. Details aside from that are unknown. Oh I do know she was an adult when they got her and they had her 5 years...

I would never stick my boy in without cleaning and I already read about baking the wood and rocks that I also got with it... what about the slate and the actual tank? Is Clorox wipes with a thorough water rinse enough? Should I even be worried there is a virus left lingering?

But even if I forget those supplies... 40 bucks for 40 gallons... good find!

Hi there, that is a great find. :) I'd pitch the hammocks, everything else can be put in a preheated 250 oven for an hour. For a good disinfectant, get a bottle of red wine vinegar [ not white or apple cider ] , mix about 1/4 cup in hot slightly soapy water + wash it down well, then rinse well with clean hot water.

Red wine vinegar much stronger than bleach. I tried to link the article but this site won't let it post here.

The hammock is woven and way to big for my boy at this point. I mean hes 6 months old but still. I'll throw it an order a cloth one.

The lights, some of them are coils so those are out.

Thanks for the tip on red wine vin. I'll Google it and see what I can find. That should be good for the slate as well I'm assuming. They left some sort of repticleaner as well I need to look at...

If you Google " red wine vinegar kills cholera " you should see an article entitled "Nine facts about food + water originated infections ".

Scroll down to point # 4.

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
