Ive purchased a second tank today but noticed the metal/screen slot is too small for a dome fixture (heat 7") and a linear uvb bulb to fit! How do i go about this? Do i mount a t8 inside and heatbulb on the screen? Also what fixture would i need for a t8 to go inside? Heres the tank ( only bought for the tank ,will be replacing the lights)

Our All Living Things Desert Kits is ideal for bearded dragons, leopard geckos, tortoises, and other desert species. The kit completes your desert reptiles' home and features a hinged mesh hood for easy access and cleaning.

Only at PetSmart.
Features: Hinged mesh hood for easy access and cleaning <<<< I'd remove the hinged lid entirely and replace it with a solid timber lid (with holes cut to allow ventilation and the basking light's dome to sit on top . You'll find you wont need as much wattage in the basking globe to achieve the required basking temp (about 42degC) and a nice warm zone (30degC).
Includes:

•1 Glass terrarium with elevated base
•2 large dome lamps
•1 100W basking bulb
•1 26W UVB high-output bulb <<<<< throw the 26W All Living Things UVB bulb in the bin (it's Chinese poor quality rubbish) , replace this AT LEAST with a 26W UVB200 , better off setting aside it's dome light fitting and replacing with a 24W T5 reflector hood mounting a T5 10%-12% UVB tube (Arcadia, Exo Terra or Zoo Med brand tube) and mount the UV light and reflector hood UNDER THE MESH LID.
•1 Water dish
•1 Food dish
•1 Analog thermometer/hygrometer <<<< these are worthless as they are highly inaccurate (can be 25% out (high or low), best throw it in the bin and replace with something like http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LCD-Digital-Thermometer-For-Fridge-Freezer-Aquarium-FISH-TANK-Temperature-New/191810807998?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107090050%26meid%3D7e3d29cc032741bb95568906f11951e3%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D391259141696 , I buy them several at a time so I have 3 probes per tank and can see my temperatures at a glance.
•1 Brown carpet substrate
Terrarium Size: 40 gal (151.4 L), 36 in L x 16.25 in W x 19.2 in H (91.4 cm x 41.2 cm x 48.7 cm)

Do i mount a t8 inside <<< the viv is 20in tall, a 10% or even a 14% T8 tube even in a reflector hood mounted UNDER THE SCREEN LID will not be adequate , you need a T5 10% - 12% UVB tube in a reflector hood MOUNTED UNDER THE MESH LID , to ensure the beardie gets adequate UVA and UVB
and heatbulb on the screen? Also what fixture would i need for a t8 to go inside? Heres the tank ( only bought for the tank ,will be replacing the lights)

TOP OF DOOR / OVER DOOR HANGERS https://www.ebay.com.au/p/?iid=291648728527&chn=ps&&&chn=ps will work.

What is a good thing to substitute uvb with while i wait on my linear bulb to get here? (Will be a couple of days) that i can find at petsmart?

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
