HELP Stressed Juvie

Yesterday we moved Winston to a 40 gal tank as he was in a 10 gallon and it was too hard to create a temp gradient between the cool and warm side. Also he is growing nicely having already shed twice in the 5 weeks since we first bought him so it was time for the switch to a bigger tank. I was going to go to a 20 gallon since he still seems so small for a 40 gal, but we figured he would out grow that quickly so why put out the extra expense. When he woke up this morning I did the usual, hand fed him some romaine lettuce dampened with water and he ate several pieces. He's pooping fine, but when we put him into his container to eat his crickets he just window surfed to get out. He was acting weird the other day too, but then he shed so we figured that was that. He is definitely stressed because he's black and is normally a nice tan color. It just kills me to see him so stressed out, because he's been doing so well and we absolutely love him. How long until he's adjusted to the new tank??
We are gut feeding his crickets so we don't dust his food with calcium anymore, he eats a small amt of veggies daily and will drink water when he's thirsty. I bathe him maybe once every 10-12 days ans he's pooping fine. The temp in his basking area is only 90 degrees now with the bigger tank. We have a single basking light using a 100 watt household bulb and a zilla hood light with a compact T10 UV bulb with an additional 60 watt bulb in the other socket (it won't let you go higher than 60). Any suggestions on how to raise the temp and also where I can get a 40 gal breeder tank hinged screen lid? Thanks.

I don't know about the lid part. You can try putting a CHE next to the heat lamp or get a halogen bulb. It will put out more heat. His basking spot needs to be 110-115 or he will not digest much.

He needs calcium dusted on 1 meal per day 5x a week and vitamins the other 2 days. They still need supplements as well as gut loaded bugs.

What brand/type of UVB T8 or T5 do you have and how close can he get to it now?

What type of thermometer are you using? You should be getting a higher reading than only 90 using 160 watts of heat. What is the basking SURFACE temp?

And yes. you do need to dust his feeders as kyleena recommended. It's VERY important.

Amazon has these but not sure if that's what you are looking for. https://smile.amazon.com/Exo-Terra-Screen-Cover-Hinged/dp/B00LH09T2W/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487617519&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=hinged+screen+for+40+gallon+breeder+tank

Also romaine lettuce isn't very good to feed, mostly water & not much nutrtional value. Here's a site that shows the best greens/veggies to feed in green print: http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html

Thanks for the input :) We were dusting his crickets and the pet store manager said it wasn't really necessary (he had a beardie for years back in the 90's when they first became popular). We tried other greens and he did't like them. We don't just feed him romaine we give him broccoli and green beans. Tonight we will try dandelion and mustard greens. He also has eaten apples, grapes and mango. He seems a little calmer now that the hub bub of the move is over. He's not so black and has definitely calmed down. He ate about 5 crickets (still short of his usual 30-50 day), but I'm hoping he'll eat more tomorrow. He seems to be enjoying his new digs as you can see by this pic :)

Ignore the advise give by the pet store staff, their advise is usually worthless, often bad.

A juvenile bearded dragon needs lots of appropriate sized (HIGH QUALITY) bugs each day (two meals of them per day) and if it eats some greens or grated veg it's a bonus ,just don't let the juvi beardie fill up on veg and greens and not have room left for it's bugs (insect proteins and fats and dietary calcium).

I observe you have a dial type thermometer in the tank - they are terribly inaccurate , the temperatures indicated can be 20 degrees out.
I strongly recommend you get rid of it and replace it with a few of these types of digital thermometers (cheap, reliable, ACCURATE (enough for your needs) and you can monitor temperatures at a few different places in the tank .... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4x-LCD-Digital-Temperature-Thermometer-Fridge-Freezer-Aquarium-Fish-Tank-Reptile-/391259141696?hash=item5b18dcb640:g
and one of these are good for getting surface temperatures like at the basking spot ....http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Portable-Digital-Infrared-Thermometer-Temperature-Laser-Gun-Meter-20-320-Celsius-/201239456058?hash=item2edace693a:g

We have a single basking light using a 100 watt household bulb and a zilla hood light with a compact T10 UV bulb <<< do mean a 10% UVB compact fluorescent bulb ? - good quality compacts are OK so long as they are an appropriate wattage for the height of tank , with an additional 60 watt bulb in the other socket (it won't let you go higher than 60).
<<<< replace the fitting with a good quality ceramic E27 fitting , this way you can go to wattages up to 150W , but if you are limited to 60W , you can change to par38 incandescent or equivalent and move the lamp closer the basking spot . Any suggestions on how to raise the temp and also where I can get a 40 gal breeder tank hinged screen lid? Thanks.

My recommendation is a tank which has sliding front doors rather than a converted fish tank with top access. If you are handy with tools you could build your own.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
