Are reflectors really needed?

Hi I'm thinking of getting a vivarium An adding the diy parts myself. But I was curious I've seen a lot of people with An without reflectors covering their basking lamps for their bearded dragons. So I was curious to ask are reflectors needed in a vivarium?

Reflectors serve two purposes - they redirect otherwise wasted light to the vivarium where it is useful, and they obstruct view of the lamps (glare) and make it more comfortable to look at the vivarium.

For UV lamps they also increase the effective strength of the lamp.

Is there any way you can get reflector asking lights as a whole like the light bulb has reflectors in or around it

Halogen flood lights have built in reflectors.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
