My beardie is about 6 weeks old and I was wondering what the best insect is that I can just plop in her food bowl and leave 'em there for a bit? Crickets are too jumpy and drive my cat absolutely bonkers. Also Terezi (the beardie) doesn't seem too crazy about crickets. I think my cat likes them more than she does

Dubai roaches or black soldier fly larva(Phoenix worms) are good options.
For a baby should I go with the phoenix worms? Also dubai roaches won't just climb out of the bowl? (I know nothing about insects oopsie) (Its a 2 inch deep reptirock dish)

For really young hatchlings :

BSF maggots, house and blow fly maggots (calciworms), and small (about 20 - 30mm long) silkworms on a bit of mulberry leaf (or chow).

blowfly maggots = https://frogs.org.au/live-foods/product/blowfly-larvae/ and pupae and flies https://frogs.org.au/live-foods/product/blowfly/ , flies are great food and will get the little hatchlings leaping to catch them. (I've tried these and my lizards loved the flies when they emerged and were fun to watch hunting and catching them. Sold as CalciGents here , and different to BSF gents.

housefly maggots = https://frogs.org.au/live-foods/product/house-fly-larvae/
housefly pupae https://frogs.org.au/live-foods/product/house-fly/ , the flies are great food and will get the little hatchlings leaping to catch them.

I've also fed termites to my lizards and they were eaten with gusto (I gave by hand) I collected mine when I discovered a termite mound in the bush near my place.

All are slow moving and wont wonder far.

We sell calciworms at work so that should be perfect! She's not so good at hunting yet so that will really help her. Thank you!! :D

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
