So I am a first time beardie owner. I absolutely love my little guy or girl. Its a youngin so I'm not sure of the sex yet. And how, my beardie got really fat and wasn't eating. I figured he might be impacted, so I put him in the bath and he did his business and looked thinner and started acting a little better. But he really isn't eating much. He's also bobbing his head up and down a lot. He doesn't seem to be acting really bad. He isn't laying around like he was... I'm just wondering if this is normal for a baby beardie.

Yeah. What are the dimensions of your tank, what are the temperatures and how are you measuring them, what kind of lighting do you have and how far is it from the basking area, what kind of diet are you providing, etc. Information like that helps us to figure out if something stands out as a possible issue that could be causing this behavior.

Okay, so I uploaded some photos. The tank is 20 gal. Long. And im using a uvb light. Hes just a little guy. He eats dubias and super worms. And greens. He stopped eating yesterday morning. I keep taking the old bugs out and replacing them with new ones every time its time for a feeding. He eats one or two. Maybe three at the most and then he stops eating. Wont eat his greens. I put him in the bath this morning and he pooed ALOT and I thought maybe that would help, but he still isnt eating.

Do you have a basking light for the little one?
They need a heat lamp with a basking spot of 105-110 for proper digestion. Don't use the stick to the wall thermometers (they suck, they are way off, and I learned that the hard way. Get one of the probe thermometers that are digital and put the probe on the basking spot)

But as the others said, give us a detailed rundown of your setup, as in tank size - you said 20 gal- lights you use and power of each light, temp in the tank, humidity, things like that. :)

Its a uvb light. All we dont have a probe. All we have is a sticker thermometer. He seems to enjoy his baskeyness. The light also produces heat (Found that out the hard way, my fingers are still blistered) could he be lazy now that I have fed him out of hand? Did I make him to lazy to get his own food?! Im a bad beardie mama.

The sticker says its 95 in the tank. He just got through shedding earlier this week. We have been using calcium with and without D. He ate his poo once. Could that hurt him? I dont know. He isnt really acting like he did when we got him. He used to wave like all the time (I think at his own reflection) now his toes are always raised and spread wide open and he sits to the side of his log instead of on top of it. We havent changed his location at all. He wont eat much. Seems to be pooing okay. No at active as he was.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
