I have this feeling that Woodhouse never eats...... i never see him eating his salad and things, he has no interest in crickets and worms when they are right next to him....should i be worried? What can I do??
Is he acting alert and moving around? If he's alert he may be fine and may be picking at food when you aren't watching. If he's acting lethargic then something may be up.
Oh yea he's up and down his tree and on top of his house and running around. Back up to the basking. I'm assuming he's eating the crickets when I'm not watching him but I know he's not eating any of his veggies. Even when I put some mealworms on there for movement... he's only about 2 months old and super tiny. So I know a little will fill him up. I just get worried.
OK good. If he's active then he's probably fine. He may be going after bugs when you aren't watching. If he isn't interested in crickets at meal time I would remove any leftovers as they are good at hiding and may come out and bite him overnight. A good option would be to leave a bowl full of black soldier fly larvae (phoenix worms) for him. They will wiggle around quite a bit but won't escape or cause any harm if left in the tank all day.
Hello, please stop feeding mealworms immediately, especially because he is so young. If you like worms, try phoenix/calci/repti worms. Mealworms are known to cause impaction because of their high chitin content.
Thank you so much for your input. I'll have to find where I can I buy those. I don't believe the pet stores carry that so I'll probably order online. thanks again!
