This is Harold. Normally he's a very calm dragon. The only time he puffs his beard and turns black is when we are trying to get some natural uv rays. We're slowly working on it and it's getting better.

Mine was the same when I started taking her outside. I find she doesn't like large open spaces above her, so she will be okay if I hold her but she'll run for shelter if I put her on the grass.
I recommend getting a little leash so he can start exploring. Nothing like chasing a lizard.
