Finally have setup for beardie, getting him next week!! Let's get to the questions!!!!!!!!!!!!

When can I first handle him?
How can I make him feel at home?
How can I make him not fear me and love me? (lol, that sounds weird)
When should his first checkup be?
When should I give him his first bath?

I swear I have everything he needs and I have done my research, I just really do not want a bad relationship with him(or her)...I do not wanna screw up :(
Maybe I am just freaking out because I have anxiety....but FOR REAL, I DO NOT WANT TO SCREW THIS UP.!

   :bikerwave:

They're all a bit different so go easy at first. If he seems timid then give him some space to get used to his new home. If he seems like he's pretty calm you could try handling him a bit or give him a spot to roam around and explore. If your setup is in good shape and you have a good diet available for him it should be OK. Enjoy your time with him, especially while he's small. I like to provide vet checkups annually. A vet visit can be stressful though so I'd probably wait a few months unless something seems wrong. It's good to establish a relationship with a vet and get some baselines to go by down the road.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
