Going on Vacation next summer...Want to bring my Beardie

Okay so I'm going to Maine in the summer and I want to bring my bearded dragon with me.The drive is about 3 hours and I'm wondering how I should transport my beardie so he is safe and comfortable. If someone could answer this if they know that would be great! Thanks! :D :blob5:

I have the book "The Bearded Dragon Manual". There is a section in there about vacationing with your beardie. I plan to take mine to Fl with me summer 2015. It says they travel well in small cat carriers. Bring towels or Repti carpet to line it, dishes, food, water from home. Before just stuffing your beardie in the carrier and taking off it says to do training sessions with favorite treats. Start off with short sessions and make them longer. The book also suggested if staying in a hotel use the Do not disturb sign so as not to freak out the maids! Hope this helps some.
