I've given my beardie cactus pear before. I buy it whenever I can because it's one of the few foods that are supposed to be very, very good for him that he also LOVES to eat. However, most of the cactus pears I've gotten were large and green on the outside, and white/green on the inside, like this:

I got red once an he HATED it, he barely ate it, it stuck to his face, and it stained EVERYTHING, including him, red. Not ever getting that again. However, the ones I bought yesterday looked different. They're small and their skin is green and red. I have yet to cut one open. They look like this:

But much, much smaller.
I just read somewhere that some types of cactus pears can be poisonous to beardies. Is this true? Are these any different than regular cactus pears, and are they still safe to feed?

Sorry if this is a dumb seeming question... I just want to be sure.
I also got a cactus pad that I'm excited to try with him.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
