Watering dubias and vacation

Looking for some insight on what to do with my smaller dubia colony when I go on vacation. My mom will sit our beardie but refuses to have roaches in her house.

We will be gone for 5 days and while I can give plenty of dry food for the dubias to eat, hydrating is my main concern. Normally they get all their hydration from fresh fruits and veggies.

I have never used the watering crystals and prefer not to as I have read plenty about how the crystals can ultimately be unhealthy for your pet that eats the feeders. A quick insert - I do not feed my dubias to my beardie, due to establishing it further. It will be at least 3-6 months till she eats a dubia and more than likely a week of watering crystals would be long gone in their system? Would the watering crystals hold up for 5 days (hydrated) if this was my only option?

Any other input on how to keep them hydrated without having someone stop by and add more fruits/veggies?

Thanks for the input!

They should be OK. I leave my colony for days at a time sometimes and just give them a load of veges before I leave and when I get back. Try offering them slices of squash before you go and let them get their fill. That should give them all the hydration they need for a while.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
