Dubia roaches temp won't stay up

I was doing fine with a red light and heat pad a few weeks ago, temps were between 90-95. Just got more and added more egg flats and with the red light my temp went up to 104.. Turned it off and cranked my heat pad up but now I'm only achieving 81°. I know that's got to be to cold for them, should I make a bigger vent, in hopes to let some of the heat out so I can continue using the red light??

81 is fine for them. They may just not breed as quickly as they would in higher temps. 81 won't harm them. Adding ventilation is a good idea anyway though. Keeping the bin well ventilated will help reduce risk of mold growing in the bin.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
