Hi all, I've ordered 1000 Phoenix worms (£10.50 inc. Postage!?) and wondered if anyone had any 'tricks' for slowing their development so they stay wormy for longer? They will need growing as they're only small, so I'm only growing about 200 at a time?

You can put them in a wine fridge or area that will bring their temps down into the 15-18C range which will slow them. I've kept them at room temp for a month or two with no problem but they do start to hatch into flies which are slow moving and a good treat as well.

In lieu of a wine fridge, you can put them in a small cooler with an ice pack that will keep the cooler between 50-60.

Warm up that day's feeders to get the wriggling.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
