Phoenix Worms have bad odor?

Today, I went to give my beardie his phoenix worms, but when I opened the container I noticed it had an odor that smelled like ammonia. I received these last week. Has this happened to anyone else before? And is this safe for my beardie to eat?

Yeah I've had them smell like that too. Doesn't seem to be a big issue. Sometimes I'll leave the lid off for a while to help ventilate a bit better than the small pinholes in the top can do.
