Is it safe to keep a Dubai roach colony in my room?

Starting my first colony and am wondering if I will be able to keep them in my room inside a ventilated container underneath my beardie tank. Is it safe to have them in a room where you sleep and spend most of your day? Like fume wise ? Lmao I know they don’t give off smell but is it safe to breathe in the air around them? Thanks

Yeah that should be OK. Some folks have reported allergies near them, but that will vary quite a bit. The smell is there, but is MUCH less than crickets so it shouldn't be a problem at reasonable distance, especially if you swap out the food regularly to keep it from rotting.
