Hornworm questions

Just ordered a 25 count of hornworms for my bearded dragon to mix up his food source. I'm going to store them with my BSFL in a mini cooler with a ice pack I change daily. From what I can read from some of the post, the hornworms should be fed 2-3 times weekly but no more than that, mainly as a treat. My only question is the rule about bugs being larger than the space between the eyes. Obviously hornworms are bad and surpass that distance, but is it still safe because there is no real exoskeleton so the worms digest properly? Just wanted to be sure so I know the right size I can feed my bearded dragon.

My dragon is about 13 inches and I ordered the 25 count small ones.

Hornworms are very soft and squishy , and very juicey , so like with silkworms , the space between the eyes rule doesn't apply to them.

Your beardie will be fine and will likely hoover them down given the chance....

I thought the same thing at first too. My boyfriend bought our beardie some hornworms one time and they were huge! I put two on a feeding dish for him and he ate them both at the same time, it was quite impressive. They are soft so as long as your beardie is chewing it shouldn't pose a risk for choking. It may make the poops a bit watery, especially if he is already well hydrated. But they definitely LOVE them :D

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
