Washing Phoenix Worms

I recently got some phoenix worms for Haku and I've realized you have to somehow wash them off before giving them to your beardie, which is certainly doable but can be time consuming. So what's the best way you've found to clean them off before feeding? I tried the trick where you put them in lukewarm water and strain them out as they float to the top but they were NOT floating and I was scared I was gonna kill the whole batch.

I use a metal kitchen strainer and rinse them inder running water. Seems to work.

That's a good idea! I've been brushing the dirt off and feeding them one at a time which can be time consuming...

The strainer works wonders! Although now getting the little guy to eat them when he thinks there are more silkworms will be quite the task...

I am a newbie to Phoenix worms also. I have an old cool whip container I fill with water and put the amount I want in it and scoop them out with a small metal kitchen strainer after they float. I then put them on a dry paper towel and make sure they are completely dry then put them in the curved brown mealworm dish I got at Petco and they cannot climb out as long as the worms and the dish are completely dry. Seems like a lot of work but once you get the routine it works great!

I pick them out of the container with plastic tweezers I picked up at pet store, drop them on a paper towel, I drop them onto a paper towel and some of the particles come off when they land. I let them warm up and move around then pick them up with tweezers and place in the little bowl. If they still have the particles on them I will roll them on the paper towel with my finger before moving to bowel. When Yoda is done eating the bottom of the bowel has some of the particles so he must not be getting to much when he eats them.

just pour some out on a paper plate, let them craw for about 3 min, by that time all the dirt should be off them and dump them in after wiping up the dust/dirt
