I am thinking about using soldier fly larve as a staple feeder. Is it a good staple feeder? If so how do you keep them. How many should I feed a day?

They would make a good staple but they are expensive in large quantities. If you decide to go with them as a main staple, I would still include a variety for best nutrition. Throw in some silk worms and some crickets or roaches now and then just to keep things varied. I keep my BSFL in the tub they arrive in. I put them in a wine fridge at 55f but they can thrive at room temps as well (they just grow more quickly). They don't need much attention so they're quite easy to care for. Try ordering a few hundred and see how that goes. If it works well and is economical for you then it may be a good option in bulk.
