Recently I've been searching places to find silkworms but have had no luck. I've searched reptile expos, I've searched local businesses and I've searched online and I Cant find anyone who sells/breeds them. Any recommendations please?

Also one of my black soldier fly grubs turned into a black soldier fly. What should I do with it? Are they safe to feed to beardies?

Thank you in advance! :)

The silkworms tend to be seasonal so keep checking back for them. I get mine from coastal silkworms usually.

It's fine to feed the black soldier fly. They make a good treat and are pretty slow moving and easy to catch if they get loose. My dragon loves eating them as flies.

You should be able buy viable silkworm eggs year round.
Many silkworm breeders harvest many more eggs than they need for hatching, and simple refrigerate them , once they warm up again they must be hatched else they will die.

In general , the eggs should start hatching within two weeks of arrival. When I first started , I actually received the little tiny zip lock plastic bags sometimes with a few eggs already hatched and some very tiny worms present (from PeacefulSilkworms , in my case a trip for them of 2500 km that took 2 to 3 days even by EXPRESS POST).

Hmm, I Might try that. Thank you! :D But what do I need to do to make sure my silkworms hatch and what do I feed them? I've been googling around and haven't found much info on them.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
