I bought 22 adult dubia roaches (15 female & 7 males) on ebay tonight. I know it's supposed to be 3 females to 1 male but this was the cheapest price ($25.00) that I could find them. Would this be a problem with breeding them?
They are pretty easy to identify and separate if you wish to do so as mentioned. It may be optimal but probably isn't critical to their success. When I started my colony I had a large mix of different sizes and genders and just threw in food and let them do their thing. My colony is still thriving. Point being it's good to try and optimize their conditions within reason but probably don't need to overthink it too much. They're pretty hardy.
Thanks so much for all of the helpful info. These were sold in a group this way and I was a little worried.I will put them all in the bin when they get here and see how they do
