Replacement egg flats , safe ?

Postby Minion3511 » Tue Sep 12, 2017 6:16 am

Ok so I was at a Walmart and I saw they were going to throw out a bunch of cardboard squares . They were thick and had holes in them and I figured they'd make a good replacement for when I need to change out the egg flats in my dubia bin .

Now my question is , I realized when I got home that they must of been the packaging for those thick glass candles because they smell a little like them , would they be safe to put in the bin or should I just stick with regular egg flats?

I doubt the smell would be harmful but if in doubt I'd stick with the egg crates since they're so cheap themselves. I use cardboard tubes from paper towels and toilet paper and that works well too.
