Bowed Aquarium Lid?

Note: this viv is for a leopard gecko, not a beardie.

I got a 35 gal. bowed aquarium for free. The bottom is cracked and it's wider than it is long, so I laid it on its "back" so that the curved part is the top and actual top is now front-facing. Now I need to figure out how to create a wall/door here. I was thinking plexiglass with meh (think: car door and window) but don't actually have the tools/skills to cut plexiglass. It's a temporary build. Any suggestions? The curve part is whats throwing everything off.

Maybe a wooden frame with some screen mesh (like used for a screen door - sold in rolls) across it. The curved cut might be a pain but if it's temporary you might be able to just oversize it a bit and have the door be squared. Then attach it along the bottom via a hinge hot glued or similar with a latch set at the top so you can keep it secured and then open it downward.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
