Hello all! I am currently building an enclosure and about to be finished! I am looking at my lighting options and prices and thinking of ordering the reptisun hood because it includes a bulb with the purchase of the hood for cheaper than buying a t5 fixture and bulb seperately. These hoods are clearly intended to sit on top of the enclosure and I will be mounting it inside. Wondering if anyone has any experience with mounting these vs sitting them on top. It is a wood enclosure so the command hooks option won't work for me. Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
Make sure the bulb that comes with it is the 10.0 and not the 5.0
Typically those combos come with the 5.0 instead.
If it does, you're better off getting a different fixture and bulb separately.
Since you are building a wood enclosure, you can just make a support bracket out of wood that holds the lamp in place at the top too.

If you're going to hang or mount the fixture inside you might be better off with one like this that comes with clips and is designed for that http://www.lightyourreptiles.com/22-t-5-ho-fixture-high-output-with-arcadia-d3-12-ho-bulb/ The ReptiSun hood is a nice fixture, but it is flat on top so would be more difficult (totally possible though) to secure in a suspended manner rather than it sitting on a surface.
