Dig box ideas

We want to make a dig box for our little guy, he always seems to be trying to dig, and we use tiles as a substrate.

This is what we're thinking, getting a wide tubberware container, and filling it with (semi) large felt scraps, or possibly alfalfa pellets, and putting that in his tank to let him fill his digging needs.

Any comments? Concerns? Advice?

Has anyone done this before or similar? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I use fleece for this and it works well. I don't have a separate bin the way you would for an egg laying box with sand and soil. It's just small fleece blankets in a pile on the tile or a handful of scraps in a pile for him to dig around and burrow in. Seems to work pretty well and it's easy to clean as needed (washer)

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
