I am turning a large shelf (4' wide 18" deep) into a enclosure for my 2yo beardie. This was a custom made "built in" shelving unit, and it is made out of high quality non treated plywood. I plan on sealing the gap between the wall and the shelf with a bead of general purpose white silicone, that should be fine right? I was wondering what type of paint/sealant I could put on the shelf to prevent poo staining the wood and prevent bacteria from growing (if that is even something I should be concerned about).
Would I still need to seal the sides and floor of the enclosure if i planned on using tile? Also what tile do most people buy, because the tile I have looked at seems to be too slippery.
