Sealer for 3D Background

So I'm in the process of making a 3D background for my
36x18x24 tank and I just want to make sure I do everything right so it's safe for my dragon .

After grouting what would be the best way to seal the whole thing ? Im using sanded grout for the texture and I might add some acrylic paint to the grout to get different colors around the enclosure .

I had the same question but never really could find a direct answer. I ended up going to Lowe's and picking up a wood sealant called polycrylic protective finish by minwax, the water based kind. I did three coats on all of my fake rocks and than allowed them to air our for about a week (or until there is no chemical smell). Worked great for me and made the decor water proof. I've had my fake rocks in the enclosure for awhile and have no issues.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
