Custom lighting

I am wondering if anyone has built anything to hold the lights over the tank. I was gonna buy one at the pet store but it was going to be 30 bucks! So I thought maybe I could build one cheaper. Any ideas would be great! I have a double dome light and a uvb light I would want to attach to the fixture.

I use the commercial adjustable lamp stands for my dome fixtures and they're great for adjusting the height and getting the temps dialed in (and keeping the domes up off of the top of the tank).

For a UVB fixture you could build a PVC grow light holder like this https://extension.umd.edu/growit/food-gardening-101/pvc-light-stand

If your tank is up against a wall, you could mount bookshelf brackets into the wall above the tank (very securely) and hang the fixture from that. Most good fixtures have clips that allow them to hang easily from chain or wire.

You could probably put together an adjustable stand for a dome fixture in a similar way but I don't have a tutorial for that.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
